BPU - Water Distribution Intern

Job Description
NATURE OF WORK: Brainerd Public Utilities is currently accepting applications for a Water Distribution Intern. Primary duties are to assist the Water Distribution crew with day-to-day activities and related special projects. EXAMPLES OF WORK: • Assist Water personnel in data collection and audits. • Assist Water personnel in leak detection. • Assist in water distribution metering. • Perform other duties as directed. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: • Enrolled in a post-secondary education pursuing a degree or certificate in Water Technology or a closely- related field. • Valid MN driver’s license. • Physical ability for frequent bending and lifting. • Awareness of traffic flow is required. • Preference will be given to those who qualify for the Sourcewell Internship Program TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT*: Starting salary is $15 - $18 per hour DOQ. This is an internship (temporary) position with flexible dates between mid-May through August. Work hours are generally 7 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday, up to 40 hours per week (no overtime).
